I want this so badly… Google, please come to Austin/Pflugerville/Round Rock!

It took forever for them to get FiOS in my area. It’s probably going to take longer to get Google Fiber. I’m so on it when they do get around here though.

This makes me sad because I don’t live in Kansas City. :(

On a positive note – I sent a message to Google Fiber’s support team saying they definitely need to expand and that when they come to Maryland, I’m picking them up FO’ LIFE. Seriously. (I didn’t actually use those words, of course…)

Anyways, they responded with this message (making me hopeful and excited, since they actually took the time to READ my message):

    “Greetings Wendex!

Thanks for your enthusiasm about Google Fiber. We don’t have any immediate plans to launch in other cities at this time. However, we will continue to actively explore other opportunities for expanding Google Fiber after our initial launch in Kansas City, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri.

We have taken your request to heart and we do hope that someday we can find a way to get Fiber Optic services to Westminster!

Please stay tuned for further updates.

    James G,

    The Google Fiber Team”

    I <3 Google. :D

Will be in Europe in so many years most likely :( That’s one of the reasons why I hate living in the UK. Will get it for sure as soon as it’s here !!

In the UK we already have FTTH, it’s just not supplied by Google.

  • Ben Carey

I don’t get what is so special about this … FTTH with a google brand on it? London and some other UK cities have been rolling out 1GBPS FTTH since 2011….

    • brandoooooooooo

because google fiber will be the fastest thing available *IN THE U.S.* which is where it’s being rolled out.
