In a desperate rush to leave the office and get to the canteen for our regular “Fish’n’Chip Friday”, our Assistant Network Manager may have been a bit careless when placing the laptops back into the trolley for charging.

  1. Yeah, you don’t want the power that comes from a laptop charger going into the NIC… good thing the other pin is inside the connector. I blew out my electric keyboard cause I plugged the laptop charger cable in instead. 

  2. You ever notice a USB connector fits an Ethernet jack nice and snugly?  I had a user who couldn’t get their bar code scanner to work because they plugged the USB cable into the NIC on the laptop!
