  1. This happened to me only yesterday. The fact I was on a very important conference call, setting up a laptop for a new starter, monitoring my own mail, and getting asked to help out a department exec was clearly not enough for this prissy prima donna to run to the office boss. Apparently the fact that the boss had made commitments, this set up was more important than everything else I was doing and had to be done.

  2. I must be the only IT guy in the world whose boss understands and enforces procedure. We have a store manager who is the reason we have a trouble ticket system at all. He used to not report stuff as broken, for three months or more, then when he needed it, he’d call my boss and bitch that I hadn’t fixed it. After the trouble ticket system was put in place, the next time he did that, my boss just laughed at him. Our official policy is, if it’s not important enough for you to put in a trouble ticket, it’s not important enough for me to fix it.
