Charged with battery…almost.

I currently work for a major Technology and Stationary chain in Australia and being retail you can imagine the amount of calls and face-to-face idiocy I see on day to day basis.

However, this one took the biscuit…

Upon stumbling over to the customer service desk I asked a red faced man if he needed any assistance with anything, to which he replied.

YES! I DON’T KNOW WHAT KIND OF **** YOU GUYS PULL HERE BUT THIS VOICE RECORDER SIMPLY WILL NOT WORK.

To which I reluctantly (as soon as I’m sworn at my defenses go up) replied “Let me take a look at it then.”

Me: “Have you tried different batteries?”

OF COURSE! IT’S BRAND NEW THEY SHOULDN’T NEED CHANGING!

Upon lifting the back cover of the device and removing the still WRAPPED batteries and unwrapping them before replacing them gently in the rear of the device, the gentleman in question gathered his things, sheepishly took back the device and scurried out of the door without a word.

The sad part?  He would have had to remove the batteries in order to try new ones, in one wrapped piece.
