Once I had a user come up to me and ask why their laptop would not turn on. I go over to the desk and notice a pool of water so immediately unplug the computer and lift it up. Water came pouring out of the side vents so the user says “oh ya I spilled water on my desk, could that be the problem?”
On a less funny note I was able to get that computer up and running a week later by just letting it air dry.

It would have been more humane to the laptop if he had told them that it was dead and gave it to someone who at least knows water and electronics don’t mix
