I’m going into programming, but I’ll die before I admit defeat and spend the rest of my working life programming crapware to be used internally in a company that as a whole has nothing to do with software.
I wouldn’t enjoy it. I would be bored and feel insignificant. I want to produce the product the company sells, not build some system to make their jobs easier.
Kudos to all IT people working hard out there, it does take a lot of effort to accomplish each role but you are definitely a gem to every company that you work with.
