Some of our readers might not be old enough to remember the terrible plight of the floppy-based installations for “large” programs back in the 90’s. Rather than tell you all of how bad it was, here is a video that accurately depicts the frustration of installing something like Windows 95 or Office 97…
Come to think of it, the only thing worse than waiting for the installation to complete was when disk 24 of 25 was corrupt – amiright?

Oh yes, the old corrupt disk. Happened about 8 times out of 10.

Back then I rar’ed games etc, and made sure to add ECC to the archieve so that I could recover from a bad disc etc
Who in their right mind installed Windows 95 with floppy disks? This looks like what it was like to install *other* programs on Windows 95 back in the day, but the OS itself primarily was on CD-ROM.
